Working Alone Legislation

As of April 30th 2004 any Employer that has Employees that Work Alone must have an Effective way that these Employees Communicate with them or a Designated Contact.

Contravention of the OHS Code or Act carries a maximum fine of $500,000 and/or a six-month imprisonment for a first offence.

Employers must comply with the province's new Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code starting April 30, 2004.
